Erasure aren’t my cup of tea, but the new song is ridiculously catchy

#TodayILearned that to manipulate the property of an object in a #Powershell where-object clause, you have to wrap the clause in curly brackets

i.e. where-object {$_.Status.trim() -eq ‘Winners’}

President Trump’s anti-enviroment schtick reminds me of Boris Johnson rabbiting on about how newt-counting gets in the way of his build, build, building

Not sure if this is a good idea or not

I timestamp output files with a parameter which defaults to now

I’m adding a bunch of functionality and I want to keep an eye on timings so I’m doing this:

Get-Stuff -timestamp $(get-date -year 1999 -Minute 0 -format “yyyyMMddHHmm”)

I can then look at the lastwritetime for 1999 and easily check when and if I’ve introduced something that significantly slows things down and compare with the changes in git.

I’m doing measure-object occasionally as well

I sometimes send an email to a couple of work colleagues and then picture them being able to discuss whatever it is because they tend to sit at adjacent desks

….it doesn’t quite work like that, currently
